Unfortunately, there has already been enough ill-conceived and poorly blended wine released under the name 'Meritage' that it will more likely become synonymous with 'dumping ground' than 'Bordeaux style blend.' Chateau St. Jean at least did the maverick thing and blended this style to a T and called it Cinq Cepages - unique, refreshing, and worthy of its own name.
